Neoptix’s optical feedthrough connector has been specifically designed for installation on power transformer tank walls. It provides long-term leak-free interface and requires absolutely no maintenance. Based on high technology glass-to-metal bonding techniques, it overcomes all the disadvantages of other mechanical feedthroughs caused by unreliable epoxy bonding or maintenance-requiring O-rings.
The optical feedthrough connector has standard ST connectors on both sides and has absolutely no moving parts or loose optical cables. It is best used with Neoptix’s T2™ fiber optic temperature probe for oiled-filled transformers, along with our complete range of optical signal conditioners (Nomad™, Reflex™, OmniFlex, T/Guard™, T/Guard 2™ and T/Guard 408™). It is also compatible with our general purpose T1™ fiber optic temperature sensor.
Moreover, Neoptix’s OFT optical feedthrough connector is a stand-alone part designed to be mated with any of our temperature sensors and extension cables. Simply connect the ST connector of your sensor and it is optically mated with the outside.
Made with standard 1/4 M-NPT ANSI threads, the optical feedthrough connector can be directly mounted on Neoptix's TWP™ tank wall plate or on any part or location on the transformer.
